The role of YAPCEC in fostering peace building in the Anglophone Regions in Cameroon during the crisis

ABSTRACT

This study focused on the role of YAPCEC in fostering peace building in the Anglophone Regions in Cameron during the crisis. From the topic, three research objectives were derived. This included; ascertaining if YAPCEC is concern with the promotion of peace building in the Anglophone Regions in Cameron during the crisis. To determine the role played by YAPCEC in fostering peace building in the Anglophone Regions in Cameroon during the crisis. To ascertain the challenges that NGO’s face in promoting peace building in the Anglophone Regions in Cameron during the crisis. From the research objectives, the researcher derived three research questions.  Is YAPCEC concerned with the promotion of peace building in the Anglophone Regions in Cameroon during the crisis?  What role is played by YAPCEC in fostering peace building in the Anglophone Regions in Cameroon during the crisis? What are the challenges that NGO’s face in promoting peace building in the Anglophone Regions in Cameroon during the crisis? The research design used in this study was the descriptive survey research design. The researcher worked with the staff in YAPCEC. The instrument used in collecting data was questionnaire and the researcher used the simple random sampling technique to select the respondents. The findings from this study revealed that YAPCEC was an NGO that was concern with the promotion of peace building in the Anglophone regions of Cameroon. The findings also revealed that YAPCEC played a vital role in fostering peace building in their own way.   It was also realized that NGOs faced challenges in the field when it comes to promoting peace building. From the findings, it was concluded that Cameroon cannot merge in 2035 without peace and unity in the country. On their part, NGOs are doing a great job in promoting peace in the Anglophone Regions of the country.
